Expressive Arts/Experiential

Expressive Arts is an excellent compliment to more traditional modes of treatment, such as in-person therapy. The goal is to assist in focus, reflection, processing, and emotional stability. Some of the many benefits of arts are:

Self-discovery: expressive arts can help you identify subconscious or repressed feelings by helping you focus and reflect on thoughts and feelings not otherwise accesed. 

​Self-esteem: The process and the final product can help give you a sense of accomplishment about completing something and being consistent in creativity. 

Emotional release: One of the best benefits of expressive arts is that it provides an outlet for expression and release of pent-up emotions. It may be difficult to express some of our more complicated emotions in conversations-this is where expressive arts can prove valuable. 

Stress relief: Dealing with the difficulties of mental health concerns can be draining. Expressive arts can be a useful tool for providing calm and relieving stress.

Experiential

Whether you are looking for a new experience as part of your healing journey or need a push to pick up an old one, we will strive to make sure that you have the best experience possible. Some examples of our services include 'Salt Water Therapy' - Have you ever seen surfing in real life or on TV and thought “wow that looks amazing!” but thought to yourself that you can’t do it because you're scared of the ocean or just don’t know what kind of instructor you would have? We will meet with you and address everyone of your fears and concerns, and only when YOU are ready we will help you accomplish that goal. Maybe you would just like someone to come to the beach with you to help you experience the magnificent healing power of the ocean. Maybe you’ve never even experienced how rejuvenating and healing the ocean can be. We pride ourselves in being someone’s first experience of ‘salt water therapy’. The sensation of smelling the salty ocean air brings feelings of calm and purity. The sounds of the waves and sea life gives feelings of solitude and oneness with nature that nothing else can. Maybe you’re thinking this sounds amazing but you’re not the strongest swimmer? Your comfortability and safety is our number one priority and our ocean and beach adventures are led by first aid and CPR certified coaches.

If the ocean isn’t your thing we also offer hiking experiences to some amazing, secluded and lesser known trails in Los Angeles County. On our ‘healing hikes’ our experiential coach will always go at the pace that you set, never “pushing you” unless you request it.  We practice mindfulness, intention setting, and breathing techniques before, after and during the hikes to help you stay centered and grounded so you can get the absolute most out of the experience.
